Rainstick

Rainsticks are traditionally made from dead cactus tubes with cactus spines hammered to the inside and then filled with tiny pebbles. When the stick is upended, the pebbles fall to the other end of the tube, bouncing off the internal protrusions to create a sound reminiscent of falling rain.

The origin of the rainstick is not fully known, but many people think that it probably came from a group of indigenous people known as the Diaguita from the deserts of northern Chile. They are also found throughout South America to Southern USA

Rainsticks have been used for centuries by shamans in ceremonies as a means to break up or remove stuck/stagnant energy in the body. It can also be used to clear negative energy attachments as well. Aboriginal Australians (as well as others around the world) that were thought to bring rain.

Our version is made in Europe and highly crafted. Made of composite wood and containing tiny beads, the waterfall will continue for up to 4 min (50 cm) and at least 8 min for the taller version. This creates a soothing gentle base over which you can layer other sounds to enhance your sonic journeys. Another advantage is that these stand upright firmly, as opposed to the cactus which must be held at all times.
